Rockstar and Netflix released a 26-minute "Extended Look" at Grand Theft Auto VI on August 27, 2026 — the first official look at how the game actually plays. It was captured entirely from in-game footage running on PlayStation 5. Here is every confirmed detail.
Playing as Jason and Lucia
- The two protagonists appear together on most story missions, and you can switch between them.
- Their partnership leans into a Bonnie-and-Clyde dynamic — the footage shows the pair pulling gas-station robberies and trading gunfire.
- During a police chase, control passes between them so one drives while the other shoots.

On the run through Leonida.
New gameplay systems
- A morality / karma system, similar in spirit to Red Dead Redemption 2's Honor: kind acts — such as petting a dog — nudge it up, shown with an on-screen icon.
- Red Dead-style interaction prompts: hold a trigger to choose from context options and interact with the people around you.
- On-the-fly outfit customization through a radial wheel — swap hats, sunglasses and face coverings like a weapon wheel.
- An evolved gun system and HUD, building on Grand Theft Auto V.
Activities shown
- Scuba diving, jet skiing, basketball, dirt biking, weightlifting and street racing all featured.
Release and platforms
- Grand Theft Auto VI is dated for November 19, 2026.
- It is confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
What wasn't shown
- Rockstar did not reveal a full map, a firm mission list, or PC plans in the Extended Look. We'll add those here if and when they're confirmed.
