There are two editions of Grand Theft Auto VI — Standard and Ultimate — plus a separate Ultimate Edition Upgrade. Here's exactly what each includes, what it costs, and which bonuses depend on how you buy.

What the Ultimate Edition adds
Rockstar lists the Ultimate Edition as the game plus the GTAVI: Ultimate Edition Upgrade, whose bonuses are "threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia's story, with new items uncovered behind each chapter":

Upgrading later
You don't have to decide now. The Ultimate Edition Upgrade can be bought separately at any time as a digital add-on from the PlayStation or Microsoft store. If you have a boxed copy, you can upgrade once its download code has been redeemed. There is no physical Ultimate Edition.
Pre-order bonuses
All pre-orders and purchases before November 20, 2026 include the Vintage Vice City Pack:
- the '55 Vapid Stanier sedan and the Shore Court garage
- outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia
- an exclusive tropical weapon pattern
Digital pre-orders also get one month of GTA+. Physical pre-orders include the game and the Vintage Vice City Pack on their code. Pre-order bonus details.
Digital or boxed?
- Digital pre-orders pre-load from local midnight on November 12 and include the GTA+ month.
- Boxed copies contain a download code, not a disc. They're available from November 12 so you can pre-load, and they're Standard Edition only.
- On PlayStation, codes must match your account's region. Xbox codes are not region-locked.
Is there a collector's edition?
Not of the game. Rockstar's Goodtime State – Vice City Collection is a premium merch box — the game is sold separately. See our merch guide.
Which should you buy?
If you want the extra cars, shops and businesses woven into the story, Ultimate costs $20 more in the US. If you're unsure, buy Standard: the upgrade stays available, so you can add it later once you've played.
